Michael Canzoniero,
aka "DrDive"
From the very first scuba dive I made in clear, beautiful tropical water, sometime in 1980, the idea of taking photos underwater became my obsession. Over the years I've steadily worked at improving my skill in the art of underwater photography. I began taking marine photos in 1981 when I rented a Nikonos 3 camera. The results were grainy blue/green pictures which contained only hints or glimpses of marine life. After two years I bought a housing for an inexpensive "point and shoot" camera... results: only slightly better.  A couple of years later it was a Sea and See marine camera... results: a bit better. Then came a Nikonos V with a strobe... results: serious improvement, but at a price - I flooded the camera twice! In 2002 I went digital (a Tetra housed Olympus 3040) and I saw a big difference in the way I approached the art and the results I was getting.  Today, I use a Canon digital rebel in an Ikelite housing with an Ikelite 125 strobe.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

There are three C's that enable us to live happily with others:
Compassion, Communication and Comedy.
Unfortunately, the first to go is usually comedy. Remember to laugh at the situation and at yourself.

It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.
